Reforma

CENTRAL REFORMA
Arguably the City’s most important, emblematic and beautiful avenue. Its original layout was ordered by Emperor Maximilian, who called it “Paseo de la Emperatriz (Empress’ Promenade)”. Later, after the liberal triumph of Benito Juárez, it was renamed “Paseo de la Reforma (Reform’s Promenade)”, honoring the laws Juárez himself issued. It crosses Chapultepec Park, with its museums; it has roundabouts, fountains and sculptures.

ZONA ROSA
It began as a residential neighborhood at the turn of the 20th century, and was gradually transformed into an emblematic borough of artists and intellectuals, with its peak in the 1960s. Today it still is a good option for tourists, with many bars, galleries, boutiques, night spots and shops; it also has an active night life with gay and LGBT alternatives.
